We collect only what we need—and treat it with care.
When you register, submit an object, share a story, or get in touch, we collect your name, email, and whatever details you choose to share. This helps us manage submissions, keep things running smoothly, and occasionally reach out if needed. If you’d like to be credited, let us know—otherwise, “Anonymous” works just fine.
We don’t sell your data. And while the archive isn’t ad-free, any ads you do see will be modest—sometimes tailored to your region—and help cover site costs.
Later on, we may offer optional email updates. If you subscribe, those might include the occasional link or sponsor message—never spammy, always opt-in.
We never share your info with anyone else unless we’re legally required to.
✉️ Email & Contact Info
Your email is only used for system-generated messages—like confirming a submission or updating you on your items. No cold emails. No admin check-ins. Just quiet, behind-the-scenes functionality.
Only a couple of trusted folks behind the scenes can access this info, and only to make sure things run smoothly.
If you sign up for newsletters down the track, that’s your call—and your preferences stay private, like everything else here.
🕶️ Staying Anonymous
You don’t have to use your real name to contribute. Just tick the box in your profile or submission form, and your name will be shown as “Anonymous.” No judgment. No questions. Easy.
🧠 Submissions & Attribution
By submitting to the archive, you’re giving us permission to publish and store your content. You choose how you’re credited—by name, anonymously, or not at all—and you can update that choice anytime.
We don’t delete submissions once they’re live, but you’re always in control of what info appears with them.
🍪 Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and basic analytics to understand how people use the archive and help make it better. We also track general ad engagement—like if an ad’s been seen or clicked, or to make sure it doesn’t count the same visitor over and over.
We don’t use personal data to target ads, and we don’t profile users. Any targeting is based on things like region or page content—not you.
⏳ Data Retention
We only hold onto the info that helps the archive do its job. Once a submission is published, it becomes part of the collection—we don’t remove entries. But you can always change how you’re credited, or update your privacy preferences.
Got questions about your info or privacy? Just get in touch—we’re happy to explain things in plain language, no fine print required.
